Stewardship of Talent

Posted on 20 February 2008 by Gina

Jerry Hurley is part of the Directional Leadership Team of LifeChurch.tv. Jerry is passionate about helping people reach their greatest potential. Here are a few things he’s challenged me with last December. I’m still chewing on it…

  • Stewardship demands that I look inside and uncover the talent God has put inside of me
  • I am accountable to God to maximize the talents He’s given me

I needed the reminder. Thought you guys would get something out of it also. What talents need to be maximized in your life?

  1. Jason Curlee Says:

Stewardship as a leader is helping the people we lead look inside and uncover the talent God has given them and setting them up for success in developing and utilizing these talents.

As a leader I would say that is what I need to be maximizing.

  2. Roger Says:

A freind of mine said something to me that changed my view of everything.
He said everything we have had, do have and are going to have is God’s and we are just borrowing it for a while, so take care of it becasue some day you have to give it back.
That really struck a cord with me and changed the way I see material things forever

Try reading the parable of the talents from Matthew 25 without mentally translating the word talent into a dollar figure. I’ve always thought that was an odd translation anomaly in the Bible in English. God expects a good ROI from what he has entrusted to each of us.
