I never thought of it that way.
But as I learn more about how we are designed, it only makes sense. We were created to respond to God. Even at the earliest stages of our lives.
Why did Jesus tell his disciples to let the children come to Him? Because Jesus wanted to demonstrate true worship. Read the scripture. Jesus was in the midst of another nit-picky conversation with the Pharisees about technical rights and wrongs. But they were missing the point… again.
The whole point of our existence is to bring God glory. To worship Him. Kids respond to Jesus. Response = Worship. Worship is the point. Not technical rights and wrongs.
So when your 3-year old prays for her kitten and stuffed animal. Cherish this, but be careful not to dismiss this as simply cute. This is a 3-year old responding to her Creator knowing that He cares about everything in her life.
Instead, let it remind you that your God cares about everything in your life. Even the things you dismiss as trivial.
Your 3-year old is responding to God and thus worshiping Him. Glorifying Him.
A child’s worship is not trivial. It is not immature. It is not naive.
It’s glorifying. It’s everything God designed it to be.
So when was the last time you prayed that way?

That’s good. Real good. Every night Seth prays, “Jesus, will you give me sweet dreams? Amen.”
I have dismissed this. Not anymore.

That is such a awesome point. I love hearing the boys pray and listening to what their hearts are worried about and are loving.

Read Romans 12:1. The end of the verse says “which is your spiritual service of worship (NASU)”. My translation is “which is your logical response”, because, as you said, Response = Worship.

John Piper said in “Let the nations be glad” that missions exists because worship doesn’t. He has a point. God is looking and drawing worshippers to him in resonse to his great love. All the more reason we “go”
love you girl

Excellent Gina! Response is the point and is what God desires. Nice job on this one!
