I don’t have all the answers!

Posted on 24 January 2008 by Gina

There.  I said it.

I don’t have them.

I’ve spent the week in and out of conversations dealing with a tough issue.  The more I dive into things like this, the more God reveals that the source of answers is not from my ‘vast’ experience in ministry.  (did you catch the sarcasm?)

No.  I found myself confessing that I’m ‘feeling’ my way through this.  Promising to take every step God directs.  Reassuring that because He is orchestrating, then healing and restoration are the result.

Certainly takes the pressure off.

When was the last time you found yourself here?  Do you lean on your experience or the One leading you through it?

Even Doctors ‘practice’ medicine; why should I be expected to be the expert? My experience is valuable, but it seems that my challenges are challenges because I’ve never experienced them before. (I’m not sure that made any sense…)

I think I always start down a road of my own understanding and end up tripping then falling then rolling and eventually turning into one of those snowballs you see in cartoons. Then I hit what I call The God Wall. The wall which was right in front of my face the whole time and I just couldn’t get over myself enough to let the peaceful and soft landing spot embrace my heart to being to heal and restore whatever I was rolling out of control from. When I let go and let God take care of whatever I am fearing He ALWAYS come through. You may not have all the answers or even all the heart to search for them, but you do have all the confidence to allow God to direct your path. Who wants all the answers anyway!

    Jonathon,
Good point. I agree. They become less of a challenge the more you experience them. It sure does stretch me now, though.

    Stacey,
‘The God Wall’. I love it.

    Becky,
Good to hear from you again. By ‘new revelation’ do you mean you’re surprised to know I don’t have all the answers?!? If that’s true then this blog is very deceiving. :)

Great post, it does take the pressure off…admitting we don’t have everything figured out…it also invites others to join us as we figure it out together.
