That’s right. I have a short attention span. I don’t focus on one thing for very long.
If a blog post is so long I have to scroll… I rarely read it.
We all have a lot to say. If your rant is a big one… break it up. Give it to me in pieces. Let me breathe between points.
I promise. Not only will you initiate a great conversation, but you’ll keep your readers coming back to see what you have to say next.

…is like air to me.
I love coffee. Addicted? Yes. But it’s more than that. Coffee is not just caffeine. It’s an experience.
Hot cup. Steam wafting up. I breathe deeply and taste the flavor without taking a sip.
Make it even better and add the sunrise. A great book. A comfortable chair. My husband.
That is a great cup of coffee.
Amazing how rare these moments are in my world. But when they come… I’m ready… coffee cup in hand!

Just saw this on the back window of a Chevy truck. “Firewood + stupidity = new window”
I laughed.

Last week my friend was planning for the arrival of her second child in February.
Yesterday she planned his funeral.
Three days ago she sat in the NICU begging God for his life.
Today she sat in a funeral home begging God for His comfort.
We have no idea the heartbreak that awaits us tomorrow.
But we can know the comfort that He brings us today.
“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath.” Psalms 39:4-5
See you soon little Jeremy.

The conversation continues…
We’ve been talking about volunteers and kids recently.
The third installment of this discussion has nothing to do with the kids… but everything to do with the volunteer.
As Christ-followers we want to grow in our relationship with Jesus. We believe that in order to grow we must attend church, listen to a sermon, and walk away with life application bullet points that we attempt to implement throughout the week. Then we return 7 days later to repeat the process.
Many of us add elements to enhance our spiritual growth. (I.e. Bible study group, accountability group, prayer group, etc.) These are the things we do or actions we take in order to instigate spiritual growth in our lives.
Volunteering (a.k.a. serving) is something we view entirely different. Much like tithing, we view serving as our contribution. Something we give back.
The truth is… volunteering is another method by which we grow spiritually. (As is tithing.) Find a ministry that makes your heart race and you’ll find something that stretches you spiritually more than anything else you could attempt as a Christ-follower.
So that really concludes my argument. Interested in growing spiritually? Find the ministry through which God wants to showcase all those gifts and talents He placed inside of you… you’ll see more spiritual growth than you bargained for. Serving others in a manner that truly honors God is rarely convenient… but always rewarding.
Agree? Disagree? Weigh in and let me know your thoughts.
